Vintage Seiko Lord Marvel Hi-Beat 5740-8000 1974
A beautiful piece of Seiko History with this Seiko Lord Marvel reference 5740-8000 because it features Seiko's first "real" hi-beat caliber. This Seiko is a handwinding mechanical watch with Cal. 5740C - ticking 36000 beats per minute with 23 Jewels. Side note: This movement envolved in the King Seiko Cal. 44KS. It is in great mechanical condition, 26s/d with 208 amplitude and 0.5ms beat error flat.
Besides the mechanical marvel that it is this is great vintage Seiko watch due to the dimensions, with a stainless steel 35mm case with 42mm lug-to-lug wearing relatively big on the wrist. It has a beautiful sunburst silver dial with applied stickĀ markers and seiko's recognisable dauphine hands. It also has the original oversized round crown.
It's in great condition with an original case in good, unpolished condition. It has small scratches overall but more importantly has theĀ sharp edges and original case shape retained. Caseback great condition.
This is reference LM36 costing only 12,500 yen in 1974 - how tides have turned :)
